A former knitting instructor, Californian Alana Dakos began designing knitwear in 2009 and has produced the Never Not Knitting pattern line ever since. Alana’s design aesthetic reflects a love of nature and textured stitches. Accessories are equally charming. There are darling sewing kits, too. Note: Patterns on the main site are on Ravelry.

Amanda Kaffka of Vancouver is the force behind The Crafty Jackalope. Amanda learned to knit on arbutus twigs when she was six and hasn’t looked up since. She has been caught knitting at traffic lights, cafés and beaches, but her backyard is her favorite place to knit, alongside her husband and Kitty.

Caitlin and Sarina of Over the Moon Yarn produce colorways inspired by and named for elements of space and science fiction. Along with the usual hand-dyeing techniques, these space and sci-fi loving knitters also produce unique skeins dyed in pickle jars. Over the Moon also sells a line of space-theme stitch markers and other notions that are so cute.

Tangerine Designs

Casey Day-Crosier is the owner and designer at Tangerine Designs, named for Casey’s favorite Led Zeppelin song. “Tangerine Designs is based in my home in St. Peters, Missouri. I used to cut and sew between CandyLand, My Little Ponies, story time, meals, tantrums, and of course spinning and knitting! Now, I design knitting patterns, sew, design new tools, and create tutorials all while teenagers wish I’d just leave them alone!”
